The Central Library of Government College of Engineering, Erode functions as the primary intellectual gateway supporting the teaching, research, and self-learning requirements of undergraduate and postgraduate students, research scholars, and faculty.

Automated using standard library management software with barcoding, the library offers OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue) search terminals, a dedicated reprographic (photocopy) section, and quiet individual study cubicles.

Procedure for Using the Library

  • 1. All students and staff must scan their biometric / barcode Identity Cards at the entrance e-gate.
  • 2. UG students are issued 4 Library Borrower Tickets; PG students receive 6 Tickets; Faculty receive up to 10 Books.
  • 3. Books are issued for a standard duration of 14 days and may be renewed if not reserved by other users.
  • 4. Reference section books, journals, project theses, and back volumes must be consulted inside the reading room only.

Monday - Friday: 8:30 AM – 7:00 PM

Saturday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Exam Period: Extended study hours till 9:00 PM

Sundays & Govt. Holidays: Closed
